Boss UP & Brunch Empowerment Event
The Boss UP & Brunch Empowerment Event is Stand 4 Sisterhood’s signature program celebrating women’s leadership and entrepreneurship. It features the BossUP & Pitch Business Competition, a platform where women can showcase innovative ideas and business ventures in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Winner: Arlana Brumfield, Founder of Soilutions Holistic Urban Farms
This year’s winner, Arlana Brumfield, is the founder of Soilutions Holistic Urban Farms, a business dedicated to sustainable urban farming and community wellness. Arlana represents the spirit of innovation, determination, and leadership that the BossUP competition aims to celebrate.

We believe that everyone has the potential to achieve greatness and fulfill their dreams. Boss UP & Brunch exists to empower women to overcome obstacles, gain confidence, and access the resources they need to succeed in business and leadership. It’s more than a competition — it’s a space where ambition meets opportunity and community support.

Impact / Solution
Through her win, Arlana received $30,000 in mentorship from 14 industry experts covering business formation, operations, branding, marketing, and capacity building. This mentorship provided her with actionable guidance, strategic support, and professional connections, helping her turn her vision into a thriving business and create lasting impact for her community.

FutureReady Initiative
The FutureReady Initiative is Stand 4 Sisterhood’s college and career readiness program designed to prepare high school students for life after graduation. Through a combination of workshops, mentorship, and hands-on experiences, the program gives students the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to navigate higher education, explore career paths, and develop professional skills in a supportive environment.

Opening Doors to Opportunity
This initiative provided students with hands-on experiences, mentorship, and exposure to industries they might not have known existed, helping them take the next step toward their dreams with confidence and clarity.
Programs included:
● College campus tours to inspire higher education goals
● Resume reviews and mock interviews for professional readiness
● Internship preparation and entrepreneurship workshops to build real-world skills

Powerful Partnerships, Bright Futures
Through the FutureReady Initiative, Stand 4 Sisterhood partnered with Texas Tech, Red Hat, Lululemon, and other organizations to prepare DISD high school students for college and careers.
Programs & Experiences
Stand 4 Sisterhood offers programs that give girls and women real-world experiences and hands-on learning. From summer camps like Diamonds in the Rough to mentorship and leadership workshops, participants explore new skills, gain confidence, and connect with industry professionals. Each experience is designed to challenge, inspire, and prepare them for college, careers, and community leadership, while fostering a sense of purpose and empowerment.

I Am CIVILized Program:
Exposed 20 girls (10–18) to African American women in history through tours of the Juanita Craft Civil Rights Home Museum and Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center
Diamonds in the Rough Summer Camp:
● Tech support and laptops for all participants via Compudopt
● Fun, educational, and empowerment experiences through 30+ corporate and community partners
Volunteerism:
● Dedicated volunteer hours at Viola’s House, Baby Benefit Boutique, and South Dallas Serves Community Event
